Kidney stones

I have been passing blood through my urine, pains on both sides of my body and at the back and the doctor says its fine just drink loads of warm water with lemon, cranberry juice and take some pain killers.

I mean HELLO!!!!! I am in pain and that is all I get. Yes I know kidney stones normally pass through without assistance and can cause mild irritability to the passageway between the kidneys and penis, but seriously it is like daggers inside of me...

Oh and so much for the master cleanse cleaning my insides out!!!!!!!

Hopefully this pain will subside as I don't fancy a morning/day at the emergency doctors or hospital!!!!

Anyways, rant over....its the weekend and I guess that is something to be happy about, as well as their being the superbowl on Sunday...who know's maybe this year I will understand it more????

Recession = higher murder + suicide rates

A man in los angeles has killed his wife and 5 Children.

Here in Los Angeles California; Wilmington to be exact. A man on Monday night came home and proceeded to kill not only his wife but also his 5 children with several gun shots to their heads, before killing himself.

The reasoning behind the killings, is believed to be that the couple had been fired the week before from a Kaiser Hospital after a misconduct probe. To highlight the matter further Ervin Antonio Lupo sent a letter to a Los Angeles television station highlighting what he had planned to do.

The letter received at KABC-TV shortly after 8 a.m. said Lupoe and his wife had made a suicide pact. It referred to an investigation into employment misrepresentation in connection with a child care issue. (The probe involved allegations of fraud, according to sources familiar with the inquiry, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the inquiry was ongoing.)

"So after a horrendous ordeal," the letter said, "my wife felt it better to end our lives, and why leave our children in someone's else's hands. . . ."

This economy has left so many people including myself, without jobs and money and whilst it is easy to see why people turn to suicide, when there are children involved, there is no excuse on earth as to why you should take your own life, let alone the lives of other children,

School can expel lesbian students, court rules


An appeals panel finds California Lutheran High School in Riverside County is not a business and therefore doesn't have to comply with a state law barring discrimination based on sexual orientation.

In response to that suit, an appeals court decided this week that the private religious school was not a business and therefore did not have to comply with a state law that prohibits businesses from discriminating. A lawyer for the girls said Tuesday that he would ask the California Supreme Court to overturn the unanimous ruling by a three-judge panel of the 4th District Court of Appeal.

According to the principal, who called each girl out of class separately, both admitted they had hugged and kissed each other and told other students they were lesbians. The girls said they admitted only that they loved each other as friends.

The principal "just looked at me like I was a disease and I was so wrong," one of the girls later said. They were identified in the legal proceedings only as Jane Doe and Mary Roe.

"Labeling a young person or telling her she is 'sinful' can be psychologically devastating," Minter said. "Regardless of one's religious beliefs, all adults have a responsibility to treat young people with compassion and respect."

What is the world coming to, it is one step forward for equality in race, but 5 steps back for equality in sexual orientation.

Life

I have recently been pondering the meaning of life and the reasoning behind our existence on this planet.

My thoughts on this are two main reasons:

1) To pro-create
2) To make a difference

Obviously the first one is very self explanatory but the second reason is somewhat more complex in its meaning.

So how do you make a difference in this world. I used to always think that making a difference, is doing something that the world can fully appreciate that means that you have made a difference, but the older I get the more I realise that actually sometimes making a difference in the world can happen on such a smaller scale.

Providing people with words of encouragement in times of extreme difficulty is in my opinion one of the biggest ways of making a difference. Taking the time to listen to other people and be able to offer advice to those people actually can make the biggest difference in the world, to them and sometimes subsequently to the world.

Martin Luther King offering words of inspiration about having a dream, can directly be attributed to a lot of black, mixed race and other ethnicities achieving their own dreams, people such as Oprah, Obama and several other extremely successful people accredit MLK with giving them the belief they too can make it/achieve their dreams.

Now not everyone has the platform Martin Luther King did, but this example can be seen in smaller studies, where a teacher has inspired a student to become successful in a particular field. Parents are also accredited to being great role models, teaching morals, values and beliefs. Then there are the friends that are there to pick up the pieces when your world falls apart, helping you to see what is ahead.

I just hope that I may have made a difference to one person, who then makes a difference to several people as a direct result.

Anyways I am rambling as per usual. Just try and remember to help make a difference to someones life for the better.

Big earthquake imminent in LA

A small earthquake centered in Venice Beach rattled western Los Angeles on Friday night but caused no damage.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the 3.4-magnitude quake hit at 7:42 p.m. near the Venice boardwalk, a popular recreation spot for tourists and residents. People from Inglewood to the Pacific Palisades reported feeling a tremor.

Study finds troubling pattern of Southern California quakes
USGS seismologist Susan Hough said the quake was small, but "if you're sitting on sand or very loose soils by the coast, you'll feel it more because the motion is amplified."

Hough said scientists will investigate the relationship between Friday night's quake and Thursday afternoon's 3.1-magnitude temblor in the San Fernando Valley, as they work to understand how earthquakes can trigger other shakes.

In the meantime, Hough said, the tiny quakes are a good reminder that Southern Californians should be prepared for major seismic activity.

"We don't want to say the sky is falling, but there's always a chance the sky could fall," Hough said.


They reckon a big 7+ on the Richter scale is gonna hit between now and September

The UK’s thrill-capital, THORPE PARK, leading next generation film studio LIONSGATE (NYSE: LGF) and TWISTED PICTURES today announced that they will launch SAW – The Ride, the world’s first ever horror movie-themed rollercoaster, in Spring 2009. Based on Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures’ ‘Saw’ franchise, the most profitable horror franchise in movie history, SAW – The Ride is the scariest ride in the world. The latest installment in the series, ‘Saw V,’ premieres on Friday 24th October, and THORPE PARK will be inviting visitors to ‘Face Your Fears’ on their new terrifying attraction next year.

Like the films, THORPE PARK’s new rollercoaster will test the nerve of all who dare ride it and visitors will be at the mercy of the series’ master manipulator, Jigsaw. The ultimate test of SAW – The Ride will be a ‘beyond vertical’ drop of 100º from a height of 100ft, making it the steepest freefall drop in the world. Riders will also endure three inversions that will add another dimension to a whole new experience of adrenaline-fuelled fun for thrill seekers.

SAW – The Ride continues the growth of the ‘Saw’ franchise as an international cultural touchstone. The original 2004 ‘Saw’ launched a new wave in horror films and introduced a bona fide icon of terror: Jigsaw, the philosophically inclined psychopath with an exacting moral agenda and a genius for gruesome games of survival, ‘played’ with those he believes have ceased to value and appreciate the gift of life. Ratcheting up tension and invention with each successive film, the ‘Saw’ franchise has become a part of the zeitgeist while jangling nerves around the world. To date, the four ‘Saw’ titles have taken in over $550 million in worldwide theatrical box office and their combined gross DVD sales are nearly 24 million units.

Candy Holland, Creative Director for Merlin Entertainments Resort Theme Parks, is the woman behind the ride and arguably has Britain’s scariest and most exciting job. She is an extreme thrill enthusiast and will draw on her extensive background in theme park and theatre set design, working with the project team to make it the scariest ride in the world. Candy was also responsible for the creative development of THORPE PARK’s Stealth ride, Se7en maze, and Oblivion and Air at Alton Towers Resort.

The new ride will be the Park’s fourth major rollercoaster, joining an already impressive portfolio of extreme ride experiences, including Stealth – Europe’s fastest rollercoaster, Colossus – the world’s first ten looping rollercoaster and Nemesis Inferno – the 4.5 G-force experience.

New year

I haven't done a blog in the longest time.  I was quite frequent at the blogging thing back when I had a myspace profile, but that was at least 18 months ago and now I am gonna get back into the swing of things, but this time rather than focus solely on me I think I am gonna focus more on the things that are important in my life.

This year I have decided that I am gonna be a lot more active in the things that I do, whether it be pro-active in getting the things that I want in life, or just being active outside.  Life isn't always about going to bars and getting drunk, there is so much more out there to do and see. Also life isn't about waiting on others to get something done as the only person you can rely on in life is yourself.

So as part of my new years resolution I am gonna try and do more outdoor activities.  I want to learn how to ski and snowboard, I also want to learn how to surf this year too.  I have started going horse riding again, which makes me feel closer to my dad and uncle in a weird way. 

I also want to try and enjoy life more, meet more new people and open my mind to more things rather than live a restricted life.  

Whether I look back this time next year and have achieved any of this remains to be seen, but I am gonna try really hard none the less. I hope all of you have your own goals/dreams/thoughts for the year ahead and hope that this transition period will be a good one for us all.
